Procedures
Organizing a civil wedding in a villa is an elegant and charming choice, but there are some administrative procedures and authorizations to follow, as a civil marriage has legal value and must comply with specific regulations.

Marriage banns
As with any civil wedding:
- The engaged couple must go to the Civil Registry Office of the municipality (where at least one of them resides) to initiate the marriage banns.
- Required: identity documents, tax code, and self-certifications of single status and residence.
The marriage banns are posted for 8 days and, after another 4 days, if there are no objections, the wedding can be celebrated within 180 days.

Request for celebration at the villa
If the villa is approved as a venue:
- A revenue stamp or a financial contribution may be required, especially if the civil officer needs to travel.
- The date and time must be arranged with the Municipality.
A form for the celebration outside the municipal premises must be completed (usually provided by the Municipality itself).

Choice of the civil registrar
The wedding must be officiated by a civil registrar or by someone officially delegated by the Mayor (e.g., a friend, relative, the Mayor themselves, or a council member).

Final documentation preparation
- Coordinate with the villa for setup, signatures, and suitable spaces for the ceremony.
- The civil registrar will read the articles of the Civil Code and oversee the signing of the marriage certificate.

Extra tip
Always check with the Municipality:
- If a specific regulation is in place (e.g., schedules, costs, logistics)
- If there are any limitations regarding the availability of the civil registrar
